Dia 18o: El Museo de la Reina Sofia y el Museo del Prado

Hoy nosotros visitamos tres sitios culturales de Madrid. Despues de desayunar en nuestro hotel, tomamos el metro al museo de arte moderno en Madrid, que se llamaba Reina Sofia. Alli, vimos la pintura famosa "La Guernica" por Pablo Picasso. En realidad, "La Guernica" es muy grande, y podiamos ver todos los detalles de esta pintura universal. Para almorzar, comimos en un restaurante cerca del hotel, y entonces, regresamos al hotel para tomarnos la siesta, un tiempo del dia cuando gente en Espana descansa y duerme. A las cinco y media de la tarde, fuimos al museo Prado, que tiene arte classico, incluyendo pinturas por El Greco, El Bosco, y Goya. Finalmente, terminamos el dia con una cena en el restaurante mas antiguo en todo el mundo, Botin. -Nikita, y los otros alumnos de NA

Today, we visited three of Madrid's cutural sites. After eating breakfast in our hotel, we took the subway to the museum of modern art in Madrid, which was named Reina Sofia. There, we saw the famous painting "Guernica" by Pablo Picasso. In reality, "Guernica" is really big, and we were able to see all the details of this universal painting. For lunch, we ate in a restaurant near the hotel, and then we returned to the hotel to participate in siesta, the time of day when people in Spain rest and sleep. At five-thirty in the afternoon, we went to the Prado museum, which has classical art, including paintings by El Greco, El Bosco, y Goya. Finally, we ended the day with dinner at the oldest restaurant in the entire world, Botin. -Nikita, and the other NA students

Dia 17o: Bienvenidos a Madrid!

Hoy nosotros llegamos a Madrid. Primero, tuvimos que navegar por el metro para llegar al hotel. Las habitaciones son muy bonitas y modernas. Almorzamos en La Gloria de Montera, y la comida estaba muy rica. Despues, tomamos una siesta, y nos vestimos para el partido de futbol entre Espana y Paraguay. Llevamos ropa de los colores de la bandera espanola (amarillo y rojo). El partido fue muy emocionante, y todos estabamos muy contentos que Espana gano. Caminamos a la Gran Via para el desfile del orgullo gay. Habia un millon de personas celebrando la victoria de Espana y el festival gay. El dia fue muy divertido. -Sofia, y el resto del grupo de NA

Today we arrived in Madrid. First, we had to navigate the metro to get to our hotel. The rooms in the hotel are very pretty and modern. We ate lunch at La Gloria de Montera, and the food was very delicious. Afterwards, we took a nap, and we dressed for the soccer game between Spain and Paraguay. We wore clothes in the colors of the Spanish flag (yellow and red). The game was very emotional, and everyone was very happy that Spain won. Then we walked to the Gran Via for the gay pride parade. There were a million people celebrating Spain's victory and gay pride. It was a really fun day. -Sofia, and the rest of the NA group

Dia 16o: Despedirnos/Last Goodbyes

Hoy fue nuestro ultimo dia en Pontevera. A las 21h00 fuimos a la estacion de tren en Pontevedra para tomar el tren. Nosotros le dijimos adios a nuestras familias espanolas. Fue una despedida muy triste. Nosotros pusimos nuestras maletas en los vagones de tren. Los cuartos tenian cuatro camas y eran muy pequenos. Pero el tren era muy guay. Maestra y la Senorita Mahler nos dieron muchas chucherias (chocolates, galletas, gominolas, patatas fritas, etc...) para comer a lo largo del viaje ue duraria diez horas. Nos acostamos muy tarde porque estabamos muy entusiasmados para llegar a Madrid. -Lisa y el resto del grupo de NA

Today was our last day in Pontevedra. At 9:00pm we meet up at the train station in Pontevedra to board the train. We said goodbye to our Spanish families. It was a sad goodbye. We put our luggage in our train compartments. The rooms on the train had four beds and were very small. The rain was very cool! Maestra and Ms. Mahler gave us lots of junk food (chocolates, cookies, gummy bears, potato chips, etc...) for us to eat throughout our ten hour train ride. We went to bed really late because we were very excited to arrive in Madrid. -Lisa, and the rest of the NA group
