11TH DAY: THE STATUE OF LIBERTY AND ELLIS ISLAND

Hoy me levanté a las 07:00. Desayuné y me vestí. Fuimos al colegio y estuvimos allí hasta las 08:45. Visitamos La Estatua de la Libertad, la isla de Ellis y después fuimos a comer unos perritos calientes. Al terminar fuimos al puente de Brooklyn y caminamos un rato. Pasamos por la zona cero cuando íbamos en el bus y llegamos al colegio a las 17:30. Fui a buscar a Julia y nos fuimos a su casa. Estuve en el ordenador y luego un rato con Julia. Cenamos pollo y después fuimos al centro a tomar helado. Al volver me duché, estuve en el ordenador y me fuí a dormir.

Today we woke up at 7:00. I had breakfast and got dressed. We went to school and we were there until 8:45. Then, we visited the Statue of Liberty, Ellis island and Later we had lunch some hot dogs. When we finished, we walked towards Brooklyn Bridge and crossed it. We saw The Ground Zero from the bus. We came back to school around 17:30. I met Julia and we went to her house. I was at the computer and talked for a while with Julia. We had dinner chicken and later, we went to the center to have an ice-cream. Again at home, I had a shower, I chatted on the computer and we went to bed. Nerea

9TH AND 10TH DAYS: THE WEEKEND

Esta noche dormí en la enorme casa de un amigo de Bill. A la mañana fuimos a Newark Academy a ver a la hermana de Bill correr contra otras escuelas. Quedo de tercera. Al volver a casa comimos. A las 14.00 nos fuimos a ver el partido de fútbol de los Red Bulls, que ganaron 3-1. Despues, fuimos a cenar a un italiano a Morristown, pero estaba cerrado y fuimos a otro. Al volver a casa me fui a la cama, porque la noche anterior habia dormido sólo 5 horas. Domingo Hoy me levanté a las 09.45. Bill estaba en su entrenamiento de natación y sus padres fueron a trabajar. Estuve en el ordenador toda la mañana y despues de comer estuve jugando un rato a los dardos con Bill, y cuando se fue a hacer sus deberes yo estuve jugando a la x-box y viendo la tele. A las 17.45 llegó la madre de Bill y cenamos salmón.

Last night, I slept in the big Bill's friend's house. In the morning, we went to Newark Academy to see Bill's sister running vs other schools. She finished third. When we came back to Bills's home, we had lunch. At 14.00, we went to watch the Red Bulls' soccer game, and they won 3-1. Later, we went to have dinner to a italian restaurant in Morristown, but it was close and we went to other. When we came back home I went to my bed because the last night I slept only for 5 hours. Today, I got up at 09.45. Bill was at his swimming practise and his parents went to work. I was chatting at the computer all the morning and after eating I was playing dards with Bill. When he went to do his homework I was playing with the x-box and watching TV. At 17.45 Bill's mother arrived home and we had dinner salmon. Pablo

8TH DAY: PRINCETON UNIVERSITY AND GROUNDS FOR SCULPTURE PARK

Hoy, como casi siempre, nos reunimos en el colegio. Después de dos horas en el autobús, llegamos a un parque que mostraba esculturas de arte moderno y reproducciones de cuadros famosos. El parque tenía también un restaurante. Lo recorrimos luego fuimos a la ciudad de Princeton en autobús, como siempre. Allí comimos en un restaurante italiano donde el chef era español y el queso muy fuerte. Visitamos algunas de las tiendas de Princeton y caminamos por las calles para conocer la ciudad. Algunos de mis amigos compraron prendas de vestir en la tienda de la universidad. Un poco más tarde fuimos al campus de la Universidad de Princeton. Fue fundada en 1746 y es la más importante de los EE.UU. después de la universidad de Harvard y Yale. Vimos sus bonitos edificios, residencias de estudiantes y los jardines de la universidad. Cuando llegamos al colegio sobre las 5:30 p.m. había una barbacoa para celebrar el comienzo del curso. Todo el mundo estaba comiendo hamburguesas y jugando pero yo no quise probarlas. Elena Rosendo

Today, as nearly always, we all met at school. After 2 hours in the bus, we arrived at a garden which showed modern art sculptures and famous pictures sculptures. The garden had a restaurant too. We walked through the park and then, we went to Princeton by bus, as usually. There, we had lunch in an Italian restaurant where the cook was Spanish and the cheese was very strong. We visited some of the Princeton's shops and then, we walked down the streets to know the small town. Some of my friends bought clothes from the university store. A bit later, we went to Princeton university, founded in 1746, and the most important in The USA after Harvard and Yale. We saw the beautiful buildings, students' residences and gardens belonging the university. When we arrived at school, around 5:30, there was a barbecue to celebrate the beginning of the school year. Everybody was eating hamburgers and playing outside but I didn't want to try any. Bye bye!

7TH DAY: HOLYDAY (Roshoshana)

A las 7 de la mañana me vino a despertar Flannery a mi habitación, me vestí, hice mi cama y bajé a desayunar. Después la madre de Flannery nos llevó hasta casa de Julia y Nerea, donde nos estaban esperando para ir a la playa. El viaje duró aproximadamente una hora y cuando salimos del coche, hacía mucho viento y frío. Cojimos las mochilas y bajamos a la playa. El agua no estaba muy fría pero como hacía mucho viento decidimos ir a otro lugar donde hiciese menos frío. Fuimos a comer a una pizzería y luego fuimos caminando hasta otra playa cercana.El agua tampoco estaba fría pero no nos bañamos. Al regresar a casa de Julia fuimos a una heladería para tomarnos unos helados y despues a un parque donde estuvimos columpiándonos. Decidimos ir al video club y alquilar una película. La madre de Julia nos llevó en coche porque quedaba muy lejos. Vimos la peli y nos despedimos porque el hermano de Flannery y su madre llegaron para recogernos. De camino a casa, paramos en una tienda de deportes para comprar 2 pares de tenis para correr que Flannery y su hermano necesitaban. Al terminar fuimos a cenar a un restaurante. Tomé quesadillas de pollo. Al volver a casa llamé a mis padres y me fui a dormir. Cecilia

At 7 o´clock in the morning Flannery came into my bedroom to wake me up. I got dressed, made my bed and went down to have breakfast. Later,Flannery's mum took us to Julia's house where they were waiting for us to go to the beach. The trip lasted around 1 hour and when we got out the car, it was windy and cold. We pick up our backpacks and went towards the beach. The water wasn't cold but the wind was so strong that we decided to go to a less cold place. We went to have lunch in a pizzeria and then, we walked to another near beach. we didn't have a bath although the water wasn't cold. when we came back home we went to an ice-cream parlour to buy some ice-cream and then we went to a park where we were swinging. We decided to go to a videoclub to hire a videotape. Julia's mother took us by car because it was far from their house. We watched the film and said goodbye to the family because Flannery's brother and her mum arrived to pick us up. On our way home, we stopped in a sport shop to buy 2 pairs of running shoes that Flannery and her brother needed. When we ended we went to a restaurant to have dinner. I tasted chicken "quesadillas". Finally, when we arrived our home, we phoned my parents and went to sleep.

6TH DAY:FROM THE TOP ON THE ROCK

Hoy hemos ido a Nueva York.El autobus paro en la quinta avenida. Caminamos por ella y compramos en algunas tiendas :NBA Store... Sacamos algunas fotos en la plaza rockefeller. Luego fuimos al edificio "Top of the Rock", desde lo alto pudimos mirar el 'Empire state building","Central Park" y la ciudad de New York. Cuando bajamos fuimos a la gran catedral de " St. Patrick"y la bibliotea publica,pero solo pudimos entrar en el hall .Despues comimos en Bryan Park. Era muy bonita y muy grande. Por ultimo compramos regalos para la familia y amigos en "Times Square". Era muy llamativa, con muchas tiendas...pero lo mas raro fueron los grandes paneles de anuncios luminosos! Cuando volvimos al autobus, el conductor Joe, nos regalo botellas de agua.

Today we went to New York. The bus stopped at 5th Avenue. We walked for a while and we went into some shops to buy presents:NBA Store... We took some pictures in Rockefeller Square. After that, we went to the building called "Top of the Rock". We could see the Empire State Building, Central Park and New York City from the top. When we got off ,we went into the great St. Ptrick's Cathedral and the Pubic Library, but we only could enter in the hall. Later, we ate lunch at Bryan Park. It was very big and very beautiful. Finally we bought presents for the family and friends in Times Square. It was fancy with so many shops...but the strangest were the big boards. When we returned to the bus, the driver gave us some bottles of water.                 Bye, bye

5TH DAY: NEW YORK ( UNITED NATIONS)

Hoy fuimos con nuestros hermanos americanos a la Newark Academy, donde nos reunimos en el aula de español del colegio. Mientras nuestros hermanos americanos estaban en clase, nosotros nos fuimos de excursion a New York, a visitar la ONU(Organizacion de las Naciones Unidas), donde estuvimos guiados por una chica, que nos explico en español las principales funciones de la ONU y nos enseño las instalaciones. Como teniamos tiempo hasta la hora de regresar, caminamos por New York, visitando la Estacion Central y unpequeño parque donde almorzamos (Bryant park). Luego, el autobus nos llevo hasta la escuela donde nos reunimos con nuestros hermanos americanos para volver cada uno con su familia americana.                                                                              Irene Conde

Today, we went to the Newark Academy with our American's siblings.We met the other Spanish students there, at the Spanish classroom. The American students went to their lessons and we went to New York. There, we visited the ONU and a guide explained us the main functions of the organization and showed us the building. We learned a lot about it. Then, we went into the Central Station. It was very beautiful. Before coming back to school, we went to a little park where we had lunch ( a sandwich made for our american's mothers). After that,we returned to school by bus. There we met our American siblings and went home.                        Bye Bye !

FIRST DAYS IN USA. WHAT A FUNNY TRIP !!

Al salir del aeropuerto de Newark fuí con Rachel y su madre a su casa en los Hamptons. Me duché y más tarde salimos a cenar a un restaurante cerca de su casa. Tomé ensalada y lasagna. Allí conocí a sus tíos y a sus abuelos. Toda su familia es muy agradable. Luego me fuí a la cama temprano porque estaba muy cansada del viaje. Al día siguiente me desperté a las siete. Rachel y yo desayunamos juntas. Tomé un “muffin”. Estaba muy rico. Al rato fuimos a la piscina. Pasamos todo el día en su casa, en la piscina, leyendo y hablando. Un chef vino a su casa para preparar la cena y la comida fue muy buena.El domingo me desperté a las nueve y el día fue similar. El lunes regresamos a su casa de New Jersey. Comimos en un “diner”, uno de esos restaurants típicamente americanos. Me tomé huevos con bacon y probé un “pancake”, muy dulce para mí. Este día fue muy divertido y para completarlo cenamos sushi. Nunca antes lo había probado y es muy diferente a la comida que yo estoy acostumbrada. De postre probé un “cupcake” y me encantó. Pilar Area En mi primer dia en USA,lo pase bastante bien. Despues de conocer en el aeropuerto a las familias nos fuimos a tomar un helado. Luego me llevaron a conocer la casa y tuvimos una grata cena en la que estuvimos charlando. Al siguiente dia Greg y yo fuimos a desayunar unos cereales y zumo. Despues del desayuno me dijeron que ibamos a ver a los New York Yankees. Fue un partido muy interesante en el que nos encontramos a Alex y Adrian. Al terminar el partido fuimos a cenar a un restaurante italiano ,situado en New York ,que por cierto estaba de miedo. El domingo fue un gran dia, nos levantamos y la madre de Greg nos preparo unos pancakes con pepitas de chocolate y cafe con leche. Al acabar nos preparamos para ir a la casa de Alex para asistir a una barbacoa con Dillon y Michael, Alex y Adrian,y Alvaro. Lo pasamos muy bien, la comida estuvo deliciosa,y por lo menos pudimos estar un dia juntos, ya que la barbacoa termino a las 10:30 de la noche. Hoy lunes, nos levantamos y fuimos a buscar unos cafes y unos donuts,el conductor era Greg y tuve un po co de miedo.El desayuno estuvo excelente.Nos fuimos al supermercado ,que fue donde comimos. Era un sitio enorme. Al acabar la comida,la madre de Greg se quedo en casa y nosotros fuimos a jugar al minigolf. Yo nunca habia ido ,pero lo pasamos fenomenal y nos reimos mucho. Al llegar de regreso a casa ,nos esperaban unos vecinos que eran muy simpaticos y venian a ensenarle su nuevo coche. A la noche el padre nos sorprendio con una fa ntastica barbacoa : hamburguesas,perritos calientes .... Al terminar jugamos un poco a la video consola y para terminar la faena nos metimos en el jacuzi. Me lo estoy pasando fenomenal,la familia de lo mejor,y conmigo se portan de miedo. Me lo voy a pasar en grande!!!!!

When we arrive at Newark airport I went with Rachel and her mother to her house in the Hamptons. I took a shower and later we ate dinner in a restaurant near the house. I ate salad and a type of pasta: lasagna. During the dinner I met her aunt, her uncle and her grandparents. The family is very nice. I went to bed early because I was very tired from the flight. The next day I woke up at seven o'clock in the morning, later Rachel and I had breakfast. I ate a muffin, it was very good. We went to the swimming pool and later we had the lunch. We spent the day in her house and in the swimming pool reading and talking. A chef came to the house for dinner. He cooked and the food was very good too. On Sunday, I woke up at nine o'clock and the day was similar. We came back to their house in New Jersey on Monday. We had lunch in a Diner, a typical restaurant of American food. I ate eggs with bacon and I tried a pancake. I believe that it is very sweet :). This day was very funny and, to complete it, we went to dinner Sushi. I never had had this before. It is very good, but it is different from all other food I usually eat. I tasted a Cupcake for dessert and I really liked it. See you soon! I spent a good time on my first day in The USA. After meeting the families at the airport, we went out and ate an ice-cream. Then they took me home and we were talking while we had dinner. Next day, Greg and me had some cereals and some juice for breakfast. When we finished it, they told me that we were going to see The New York Yankees. It was very interesting. We met Alex and Adrián there. When the game finished, we went to an Italian restaurant for dinner. It was in New York and it was wonderful. Sunday was a great day! We got up and Greg's mum prepared us some pancakes with chocolate, coffee and milk. After that, we got dressed to go to Alex' house because he had organiced a barbecue. We met Dillon, Michael, Álvaro, Adrián and Alex, of course. We had a great time. The food was delicious and we spent the whole day together because the barbecue finished at 10:30 in the night. Today (Monday), we got up and we drove to buy some coffee and Dunkin' donuts. I was a bit worried beacause Greg was the driver. The breakfast was excelent. Then we went to the supermarket where we had lunch. It was enormous. When we finished the meal, Greg's mum stayed at home and we went to play minigolf. I've never played that before but we had a nice time and we laughed a lot. When we come back home, some nice neighbourds were waiting for us. They wanted to show us their new car. In the evening, Greg's dad surprised us with a fantastic barbecue: hamburgers, hot dogs, chicken,... When it finished we played video games for a while and had a bath into the jacuzzi. I am having lot of fun. The family is wonderful and they are very good with me. I know I am going to spend a nice time and enjoy a lot. Bye, bye

Este viaje es tan divertido!! El avion fue muy aburrido, pero hubo cosas que animaron el viaje. Todos estabamos muy entusiasados, y cuando llegamos al aeropuerto todo fue muy divertido. El primer dia ( viernes ) Dillon y yo fuimos a la piscina durante dos horas, mas tarde estuvimos un rato con el ordenador ya que yo estaba muy cansado. El sabado por la manhana fuimos al partido de Dillon y vi a David Campos, David Beloso, Alvaro, Irene, Lara y Adrian Taboas. Por la noche fui a una BBQ en casa de Alex. Fue tan divertida!! El domingo dormi hasta muy tarde porque era festivo y por la tarde fui con ARJ y Alvaro al club de golf de Donald Trump y fue alucinante. Es muy grande. Y ahora quede con algunos amigos. This trip is so funny!! the plane was very boring but there was things what encouraged the travel. All the people were very exciting for this trip and when we arrived the airport all the people were so fun! The first day(Friday) Dillon and me went to the swimmingpool for 2 hours, later we go to the computer for little time because I was very tired. Saturday morning I go to Dillon's match and I saw David Campos, Beloso, Alvaro, Irene, Lara and Taboas. At the night I went to the BBQ in Alex's house. It was so fun! Sunday morning I sleep very late because is "holiday". Afternoon we go with Alvaro and ARJ to Donald Trump's golf club and that is very very funny. It is very big. And now we took with some friends.
